Whole Genome Sequencing test
Advanced Genetic Intelligence for Preventive, Personalized Health
At La Vie, we believe that the future of medicine is not only reactive — it is predictive, preventive, and deeply personal.
The Whole Genome Sequencing test allows us to look beyond standard laboratory markers and clinical history by analyzing a patient’s DNA for inherited risk patterns, carrier status, and genetic predispositions that may influence long-term health. Using whole-genome sequencing, the Whole Genome Sequencing test provides a broad genetic analysis designed to help patients better understand their risk across multiple domains, including cardiovascular health, cancer risk, metabolic health, brain health, skin health, and selected inherited conditions. Whole Genome Sequencing test describes its Health platform as providing genetic analysis for 2,000+ diseases and conditions, with insights that may incorporate lifestyle and personal health factors.
At La Vie, this information is not viewed in isolation. Genetic data is interpreted within the context of the patient’s full clinical picture — including family history, bloodwork, imaging, cardiometabolic testing, body composition, lifestyle, and physician assessment — to support a more complete and personalized preventive health strategy.

Why La Vie Offers This Test
The Whole Genome Sequencing test aligns with La Vie’s commitment to precision, prevention, and longevity. Many health risks are influenced by a combination of genetics, environment, lifestyle, and medical history. Whole-genome testing can help identify inherited predispositions before disease develops, allowing our clinical team to personalize prevention strategies more intelligently.
This may include:
How the Process Works
The test is completed through a simple at-home cheek swab. Once the sample is collected, it is sent to the laboratory for whole-genome analysis. The Whole Genome Sequencing test states that results are typically available in approximately 4–6 weeks after the sample reaches the lab. Results are then made available through the Whole Genome Sequencing test platform, with genetic counseling support available through the Whole Genome Sequencing test for patients who require additional explanation.
At La Vie, our physicians review the results in the context of the patient's overall medical profile. The goal is not simply to generate a genetic report, but to translate genomic information into a thoughtful, clinically relevant, and actionable prevention strategy.
Important Clinical Considerations
Genetic testing does not diagnose most future diseases with certainty. Some results may relate to single-gene conditions, where the presence or absence of a specific variant can be more definitive. However, many common conditions — such as heart disease, cancer risk, diabetes, and cognitive disease — are influenced by many genes and by non-genetic factors. The Whole Genome Sequencing test notes that many of these results are probabilistic, meaning they reflect likelihood or predisposition rather than certainty.
For this reason, La Vie uses genomic testing as one component of a broader preventive medicine model. Genetic results should always be interpreted alongside clinical history, family history, physical examination, laboratory data, imaging, and physician judgment.
Privacy and Data Protection
The Whole Genome Sequencing test states that it is HIPAA compliant, CLIA certified, CAP accredited, and that it does not share genetic data or protected health information with employers, insurance companies, public databases, third-party advertisers, or law enforcement by default. Whole Genome Sequencing test also provides a Canada Privacy Notice under its privacy policy for Canadian users.
La Vie encourages all patients to review the Whole Genome Sequencing test privacy and consent materials carefully before proceeding with testing.
